Club 33

Where does time go? I thought I was back on the bandwagon on this whole blogging thing but here I am again a few months later blogless.  Perhaps a good New Years Resolution!...if I can even keep those.

But I wanted to share with you an experience that not very many people have experienced on this planet.  Living so close to Disneyland, it is very rare to find someone who has never been.  However; if you ask how many people know about Club 33 in Disneyland some might scratch their heads or say, "You mean it really exists?" Well I'm one of those people who did both!

For those like me who had no idea that a place would exist already in the happiest place on earth, let me fill you in.  Club 33 is a VERY exclusive club in Disneyland.  There are not very many members and the waiting list is already a life time + (basically until someone croaks).  The membership fee is in the thousands, people it's not cheap! If I remember correctly, it's $10,000 entrance fee and $3,000 monthly. I asked the kind waitress what are the perks of being in such an exclusive club.  She told me, "You're experiencing it"  It is simply a novelty to eat at this restaurant and a great way to impress friends/clients.  They just go their to eat a nice dinner in Disneyland.  One neat thing is the history of Club 33.

So what's the deal with the name, Club 33? Is it because Walt Disney did everything in pairs of three (Mickey Mouse)? Are there only 33 members? What's the deal with 33? I know the answer...I'm sure you are all dying to know now right? ........moment of suspense.....
Next door is Blue Bayou is number 31 and the store on the other side is 35.  Buzz killllllll.  Just made since to go in order. Oh well.

Inside are a bunch of artifacts that the Disney family owns.  They have paintings of the first ideas of movies that Walt had.  Actual furniture used in movies such as Mary Poppins.  If you see the pictures, you can see it reminds you of old persons home.  The room started as the original Tiki room where it had chandeliers with microphones in them. Then Walt decided he needed a place to pamper investors which is how it turned into the exclusive fine dining club...to get monay honay! It's still has that novelty feel and want to make sure you're on your best behavior.  It's hard when this is the only place that serves alcohol in Disneyland and the drinks were strong. I just stuck with Champagne, gotta keep it classy.

For dinner, we had a romaine cut in half with caesar, filet with mash, and creme brulee. It was fine and that's all I'll say about that.

My favorite part of the night was watching the fantasmic show on the balcony of Club 33. Funny no one knew we were up there, I never did.  We watched the show and the COOLEST thing I have ever seen and how crazy cool technology is getting is the Mickey ears that light up.  I was watching the show and I noticed a group had glowing ears and they all turned the same colors at the same time.  I told my friend, "hey look they timed their ears to go off at the same time!" She said, "No they put a microchip to synchronize the music/show to their ears!" WELL SLAP ME SILLY! Amazing.

I love Disneyland ! check out my pictures. During the day, we did a scavenger hunt so some pictures are ridiculous. But all and all, one of the best days!
